Performance Based Logistics Modeling and Analysis (Project Scope):

  • Develop a flexible, robust decision support tool for aircraft supply and support systems
  • Provide an effective methodology to better align resources with needs to reduce the gap between supply and demand
  • Provide insight into current operations and identify areas of improvement and efficiency
  • Provide analytical support to assist organization in moving toward a LEAN enterprise

 

 

 Results:
  • Delivered an optimized spare parts allocation package to reduce parts cost while simultaneously increasing aircraft operational availability
  • Provided detailed trade-off and sensitivity analysis for repair turn-around-time (TAT) reduction
  • Provided solutions and support to achieve the desired TAT reductions
  • Exceeded customer’s requirement of total TAT reduction by more than 40%

 

 


 

 

 Adaptive Training Systems:

  • Developed an Adaptive Training System for training personnel in complex maintenance tasks.
  • The approach utilizes an inductive classification technique to enhance the capability for conducting training that is individualized, timely, and cost effective. A machine learning methodology integrates the approach that enables customized training based on the trainee’s individual skills.
  • This system was developed in partnership with California State University, East Bay under an Air Force STTR award.

 

 

 


 

 

 

Manufacturing & Manpower Analysis:

  • Provided manpower analysis of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) operations, maintenance, and support functions.
  • New process line analysis & configuration recommendation for processing plant.
  • Ergonomic analysis and retrofitting of operator equipment to reduce stress of repetitive functions.
